Morden theme resisting mobility
-
Hello. I see now this is a common topic.
I’m using the Morden theme. On the home page they use a cover block with a heading, paragraph, and button block. It shrinks up perfectly on mobile so that you can read the text & still see button.
I have the same thing. A heading, paragraph, and button block. On a mobile phone it chops off the text.
I’ve tried altering the focal view, but it doesn’t help. Thanks for taking a look.

Hello there,
I suspect this because of the combination of blocks in use there.
I’ve created a test page in the site with the Modern homepage, whereby you may be able to use some of the settings in place there.
I hope this helps so far.

Hello. I appreciate the help.
I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to do. I didn’t see a test page in my site anywhere. Please let me know what you think I should do.
Thanks so much.

I found the test page as a Draft. Thanks.
Are you recommending I try to rebuild the home page using the original Morden Home Page?

Yes, using the draft that @aleone99 created.

Hello. Thanks for the help so far.
This worked for me and I have the homepage mobile friendly. I would like to do the same thing for the About page. Somehow I messed up the mobility formatting for it. Would you guys please be able to create a test page in my site from the original Morden theme? I’ll add my content without modifying its format. Thank you.

Hmm, I don’t see any issues on your About page when checking it from a mobile device. Can you tell us a little more about what’s going on, and what you expected?

Hi. Thanks for the help. I just checked it from a couple of mobile phones and you’re right. It looked fine.
Yesterday and today if I look at the About page on the Page Editor and I switch to phone or tablet preview, the screen goes blank. That’s why I assumed that there must be a problem. Do you think the page is ok the way it is?
-
To clarify, this is an issue that is specific to previewing a page edit (the preview button in the block editor) rather than an issue with the published page itself?
If so I think I was able to spot that issue. Here is what I saw:

Out of curiosity, is this something you have noticed on all pages you try to preview on your site? I was not able to replicate this on my test site so I am hoping you can offer a few clues as we continue to investigate, thanks!

Hi again,
I forgot to add that as a workaround, you can choose the preview option to “Preview in a new tab” and then resize your tab to emulate a mobile preview.
You can see how that is done by watching the video at this link
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hello Staff-totoro,
The screenshot is exactly the issue I’m experiencing. Right now I only have 2 pages with content. The Homepage previews perfectly fine. It’s only the About page that turns out blank when using the preview button in the Block editor. I’m not sure what the difference is.
Thank you for the video.

I think the issue here is that your text is white and the mobile preview is not using the gray background your theme is using. Here’s what I see in the preview and select a few paragraphs of text there:

Since it is working on the front end, I would recommend using the preview as @staff-totoro indicated.
