More annoying automation
-
I recently was editing a page, and WordPress decided I wanted two em tags at the beginning of every block. I had to undo all my edits, including the loss of a cut and paste, because of another nonsense decision WordPress made. I am extremely unhappy with the new editing system for concrete reasons such as those covered on my ‘Annoying automation’ post that was never answered to my satisfaction and is now closed. I’ve been using WordPress for over ten years, and I think the recent changes are atrocious.

Whenever I scroll down and put the cursor, it always jumps back to the top of the page, and I have to do it again. If I take too long to find the part of the page I want to edit, I have to find it a third time. Who makes these ludicrous programming decisions?

Hi there,
Can you tell us the URL of the site you’re working on, and exactly what steps you followed to create the post in question?
There isn’t any automation built into WordPress.com, or the open source WordPress software, that would automatically add formatting in the way that you’re describing. So our only way to figure out what’s causing this is if we have exact steps that will allow us to consistently replicate this issue.

We replied to the thread you created about this issue a month ago, but you never responded there. Please follow the suggestions in https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/cursor-keeps-jumping/ and comment directly on that thread if it doesn’t work, so we can troubleshoot these two different issues separately.
