More, Likes and Views

  I posted this morning using the more tag. I know that will only display the stuff above the more tag on my front page/archive. I’ve also seen email notifications from someone else who commonly uses the more tag, and I have to click through to see the rest of his piece. The Reader doesn’t display the entire post but appears to limit the number of words displayed.

  Here’s the weirdness I’ve seen this morning. I’ve received like messages via email. I check my stats page and the like count increases. The funny thing is my view count stays at zero.

  That means 1 of 4 things:

  1. Even though the like count increases immediately, the view count doesn’t.

  2. There is some other method when using the more tag other than email, front page/archive, or the Reader where someone can read the complete post.

  3. People are liking my post after reading two short paragraphs.

  4. Some other explanation i don’t fully understand.

  Can someone please enlighten me? I would sure like an explanation for what i am seeing.
