More Paypal questions

  I read a recent topic regarding the PayPal donate button, and wanted to ask some questions, but the topic closed. It was clarified that you could not use the drop down feature of a PayPal button, but could use the generic Donate one. Could anyone tell me how it works? I am just on the verge of self-publishing and marketing my eight-year sci fi novel and am setting up my site now. Can the donate button be used for that one product, no drop down needed–that is, will it allow the user to enter their name and mailing address? And one more question, could I use the donate button plus some other tool to download the e-book from my wordpress site? I am not using any major chains (Amazon or its minions) for anything. : )

  I found the page that tells how to add a Paypal button, including the Buy Now (forget about the donate button I mentioned above–they discourage that unless you are truly a non-profit). I did the steps, and the link is ‘hot’ but it’s the Paypal link address just as I pasted it in, not the button image. Does anybody know how to fix that?
