More spam control: Bad Behavior
-
The spam bots are killing me. I’m waking up to more than 300 spam bot postings every morning. Today it was 344 and 7 pages! I end up spending a lot of time going thru them (really would LOVE navigation at the bottom of the page) since one or two are legit postings.
Anyway – could we have Bad Behavior implemented here? I see that drmike referenced it a few times that he uses it on his MU install (at least I think that’s what I read). This would be a great addition to WP.

Bad Behavior has issues with the WPMu although it’s a much used spam fighting tool on the platform. Currently you have to get the user to visit the admin page for the plugin to get it to activate and, knowing the questions that we see here, that would be a much raised issue around here because else you get lots of errors all over the blog including the public pages.
Gotta admit that I’m running a comp’ed Akismet setup myself on daria.be.
I would like to see multiple pages as well for comments or at the very least on the Akismet page. I remember someone who had rewrote the plugin to show only the last 10 spams when that page was viewed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to view that page when it’s a couple of hundred and it’s trying to pull in the avatars on my own WPMu setup.
I would suggest sending in a feedback with a link to this thread to show that we’ve discussed it although I’m sure you’ve already done this. :)
The spam issue is becoming a pain. :(

Actually I meant that as I knew you were one who sent in feedback and didn’t need to be shown how to do so. :)
I thought the feedback was back up and running myself. My mistake.

This will be discussed.
And spam? Yes – it’s only going to get worse. But Akismet – for all it’s supposed faults – is way way better than anything else.

Hey Mark – do you mean “this” as in Bad Behavior or “this” as in bottom page navigation?
-
“bottom page navigation”? I’m missing something here.
Gotta admit that I’m making all of my blogs “Only account holders can comment.” I hate doing it but… -
@drmike:
Vivian suggested also having page notation at the bottom so we don’t have to scroll all the way back to the top and click page numbers there. Gets kind of tedious with multiple pages.@vivianpaige:
I’m just starting to really need this. Great idea! -

Nah, skimming too quickly. Two dozen tabs open. Installed IE7 a few days ago and hate how when you close a tab, it goes to the tab to the right instead of the previous one. You have to search for the one you were working on.
