  How do I upgrade to a paid plan without having to change the name of my blog?

  Hi,

  You can upgrade your storage by upgrading your plan subscription under Upgrades > Plans.

  You are not obliged to choose a paid plan, you can always skip that step and keep your current domain address.

  I believe that should read, yes you do need a paid plan but you’re not obliged to choose a custom domain. You can keep your current subdomain address that ends in .wordpress.com.
