more tag

Hi
I have a static front page. Does the more tag work with pages as well as posts?
I have tried the more tag on the front page after the photo of the house but does not appear to work
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know. We usually need that to give a relevant answer.
Posts and static pages are absolutely identical as far as the main text editor is concerned. So yes, the more tag works in pages too. But a static page set as your front assumes a special function, and its permalink changes because of that, so the more tag (or the nextpage tag) won’t work in this particular case.

I think you could accomplish a similar effect by using a link to a child page. The info on the child page would be everything you now have under the picture of the house.
Depending on your theme, and if you are using a page widget, you may need to “exclude” the child page.
