More Tag (Adding more text after more?)

When I add the more tag, everything thereafter, on the front page, disappears and is only visible once I click more tag. That is exact what I want. What I can’t figure out is how do I add more text AFTER the more tag and have it show up on the front page. For example.
BLAH BLAH BLAH. <— this section appears on the front page
BLAH BLAH BLAH.
BLAH BLAH BLAH.
RAWR RAWR RAWR. <— this section go under the more tagBLAH BLAH BLAH. <— this section appears on the front page
Kind of like an LJ-Cut.

What would be the use of more tag if you’re keeping your visitors on the front page?
Perhaps you are looking for “page navigation”. Other than that, I don’t know what you’re trying to do.

There is no way to cut a section out of a post and only have that section appear on the single-post page and leave stuff before it and after it visible on the main page.

And to arifsali, I want to do that becuase I’m posting a full length short story in my post but I also want to talk about other stuff. If someone doesn’t want to read the full length short story then they can skip over the more tag and just read on. I know I know, just put the story at the end. But what if I want to discuss the story? Then it wouldn’t make sense to have a short discussion on the story without having the story go first.
I think WP should add that feature. :) A way to end the more tag!

It’s something I’ve never thought about, and frankly can’t think of where I would ever use it.
There are a lot of features I’d like to see here way ahead of that. For some though I guess it may be a useful thing.

It does work pretty well actually, the way they do it on LJ. I agree that there are other features that I’d like to come first, but it is a good idea.

I came across the same problem, i wanted to put a transcript of interview, but obviously didn’t want to put the whole thing if someone wanted to download the audio. I was looking for something like spoiler tags, but came to the same conclusion you did. Good Luck!

How about compose that story on a page and just link it up on the blog post? There may be a little duplication of excerpts. I have not seen this feature (never used LJ) but I think it is doable.

I would really like to see this feature, just like I would like to see other features. Even though others may not use it, I use it quite a lot on LJ. -shrug- (Maybe that’s a tad selfish of me?)
