More Tag is Acting like a Page Jump

    Hello!

I want the front page of my blog to show excerpts of my posts with a “read more” function that would direct readers to the full post when clicked.

I inserted the “read more” tag in my post, and it looks fine on the front page. However, when the link is clicked you are taken to the full post but jumped down to after where the “read more” tag is placed.

Help! I want my readers to be able to see the full post right away after “read more” is clicked, not for them to have to scroll up before they can start reading…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello emmaleu,

The More Tag is behaving just as it should (bringing the viewer right to the spot where they left off reading).

At the moment, there’s no way to control the URL that’s generated by using the tag.

You might consider using an excerpt that includes a link to the story.

    Thank you daschultemn,

Too bad there isn’t a way to control that URL… I really don’t like that that’s how it works. It seems more confusing to the reader than anything.

    Thanks again!

Try using an excerpt with a link to the story URL at the end. It might be worth a look.

Will that show up on the front page of my blog though?

Rats. I just looked and it doesn’t look like the Sela theme support excerpts.
