More Tag not visible in scheduled post

<!–more–> This was the first time I’ve tried to use the ‘More Tag’ and I could not see the tag in the published, but in the future scheduled post. I inserted in the ‘Visual’ side and it was visible to the far right with a box across the width. In the ‘HTML’ it was located at the far left of the post and uncorrupted. I read all the FAQs and Forum threads but could not see any reason it would not work until I made the post private and published immediately. Then the more tag was visible and the post was split. I unpublished and took the private tag off and will have to see if the more tag works when the time comes next week to publish.

Also wanted to thank all of you that answer the questions in the forums. You do great work.

You will never see the More on the post itself, either in Preview or live; it only shows in the Edit view and on the main page of the blog. Does that clarify?

    And thanks!

When you look at it as published, do you mean that you’re looking at that post individually, on it’s own page? Cuz if that’s the case, you’re seeing it the way it’s supposed to be seen. It’s only seen as ‘more’, when it’s on the main page with other blog entries.

That makes sense then. When clicking the ‘scheduled post’ tab it’s on its own page, because it won’t show up on the main page until the date and time selected. I know the ‘more’ is not visible since it’s HTML, but I would think there would be a way of verifying it works short of making the post live. All other types of coding show up, why not a split post?

    You’re welcome Raincoaster.

    Thank you Diamond.
