More tag not working and footer/sidebar being wonky
-
I’m trying to get the gifs on this post (Book Talk: A Perfect Blood – Kim Harrison) to be behind a more tag.
The post in HTML looks like this (mind you without the spaces in the img html) –>
“Just spent the last…three maybe four hours reading Kim Harrison’s newest Hollows book.
And because its late and I really can’t express in words I’ll give you my immediate reaction via gifs.
<!–more to the gifs–>
In general:
<img src=” http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u385/LilRedAlchemist/tumblr_ly0l74RLMu1qj5rbco6_r2_250.gif ” alt=”how do i hold all these feelings” border=”0″ />ETC more gifs”
And even when I look at my main page the tag isn’t working.
Also the other problem I’m having is my footer is all wonky. It use to be two rows at the bottom of the page with all my widgets. Then I reloaded the page one day and now all of a sudden its like the footer became a sidebar but still at the bottom. It’s really weird and I don’t even know where to look to try to fix it. Does anyone know what happened?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The more tag is used to split content within a post or page. The software automatically produces a read more link with the URL to the post or page, and it can’t be used to redirect readers elsewhere.
-
I’m not trying to direct them anywhere. I want all the gifs I posted to be behind the more tag.

P.S. Your username is linked to a dleted blog. Please link it to your active WordPress.com blog. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Then what you really want is to use (next page) pagination or page jump (anchor) links.

No, I don’t want to make the gifs on a different page I want them behind a more page. I want to be able to scroll down and not have all the gifs showing until someone clicks on the entry.
But I didn’t know you could make a new page so thats nice to know.

The front pages of our WordPress blogs showcase content. That means that we click a blog post title link or a comments links to see a post displayed on it’s own page. I think you need to read this > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/08/01/links-to-specific-points-on-a-page/

Is what I’m trying to get to work. Sometimes I put one in and nothing happens. At all. I don’t know why nothings happens or why sometimes something does happen.
I go
<!–more–>
text text text textAnd when I post all I get is text text text text and no more tag.
