More tag not working in Origin theme

    No matter how many ways or times I try, I cannot get the more tag to show up. It truncates my post, but there is no link for the reader to click.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I think that is a feature of a theme rather than a problem, your visitors can still click on the title to view the whole post. I can see how it might be annoying that there’s no way to tell if you’re seeing just a snippet of a longer article or just a really short post.

    Thanks, I was wondering the same. It is kinda hard to tell if there is more to read.

    I think that quite a few of the themes that show a “read more” button do so for all posts anyway. There’s a (kind-of) work around if you have the custom design upgrade in that you can append some extra text to the title link then position it at the end of the font page post content, although it will appear on every post and not just the ones where an excerpt or more tag was used.

    Paste this in to the text area in Appearance > Customize > CSS to preview it for free:

    .home .post .entry-title a:after {
      content:"Read more...";
      display:block;
      position:absolute;
      bottom:10px;
      font-size:0.8em;
      text-transform:none;
    }

    .home .post {
      position:relative;
      padding-bottom:30px;
    }

    There still are when you have a long post and it is automatically excerpt-ed, they just don’t appear if you manually include an excerpt or use the more tag. I would assume it’s always been that way but I don’t know for sure.

    Hmmm … I can’t recall if it’s always been that way or not. :(
