More than 15 mb
-
Hi. My blogger blog is more than 15mb. I am wondering if it’s possible to import it to my wordpress site and make the postings private and then going through later and publishing the ones I want to publish.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
Yep, you can do this. Marking your WordPress.com site as private will prevent anything that’s imported, or anything on the site in general, from being live on the internet. Only you can see it. Does this sound like what you want to do?
Are you able to split that export file in to 2 smaller sizes?

Hi. I woldn’t mind making the site private. It hasn’t had much traffic because I haven’t promoted it. But I don’t know how to split the file into three smaller ones. It’s 30.9 megabytes, more than double what WordPress allows. Thank you for your advice.

Hi, from my recollection, Blogger does not give you the ability to export by date ranges unless they have changed something in the last year or so.
I did this search in Google,
and I see this by WPBeginner which you could try.

I would make a copy of your xml file and keep it safe and work on a copy of it just in case something should go wrong.

Hi. Yes, I need help. I was going to import my blog back into separate Blogger blogs several times, then delete hundreds of blogs until I had smaller exports. But it’s taking forever to upload even one iteration to blogger.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Can you please try this file splitter and let me know how it goes?

I tried that. It says “Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. … Index was out of range.”

We can’t really help troubleshoot issues with the XML splitter, as we did not develop that app. One thing, though – are you using the file you got via the content backup export option on Blogger? They also offer a template export file, and that file cannot be split or imported to WordPress.com.
