More than one domain name for the same blog
-
Is it possible to register more than one domain name for the same blog. For instance, I now have own http://colltales.com. Could I also own http://colltales.com.br and have them both directed to the same site, so if someone uses either the ‘com’ or ‘com.br’ terminations, he or she would be directed to the right place? Please let me know. Thanks and regards, Wesley Coll
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Wesley — yes that is absolutely possible. You just have to choose whether your users will see colltales.com or colltales.com.br in their address bar.
While you’ve registered your .com domain with us, we cannot register international domains. You will have to find another registrar to purchase the new custom domain.
Once your .com.br address is set up, you can add Domain Mapping in your WordPress.com Store in order to complete the process.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much and happy blogging!

Thank you for your reply, Robyn.
Since I got your attention, I just realized that something has changed about the editing of pictures on the blog. Before, one could hover the cursor over the picture, so to see the credit of it. I no longer can do that.
Also, the tag MORE, to have the text continue on another page, is not working for some reason. I’ve reboot and the problem persists. Is it just me or there some kind of bug going on?
Unfortunately, I found out about that just as I’m publishing my weekly blog, so it’s quite disheartening. Could you help me, please? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks and regards,

Hello again Wesley! Sorry for the inconvenience. We are in the midst of improving our new image editor, and we’re still working out the kinks. I will make note of your request, and if have a moment, I encourage you to report any image issues you’re having on this page:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/image-resize-1?replies=15
We’re committed to get the image editing tool back to full functionality asap. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks much for your patience.

Thanks again Robyn. I hope it gets fixed soon. For those facing the same problem, I managed to find a temporary solution: I noticed that the tag MORE now sits at the bottom of the text. So what I did was to copy it and paste it at the place I needed, and it seems to have worked. Barely.
Please keep me posted.
Thanks and regards,Wesley Coll
PS: Do I need to repost this comment at that image size forum? Let me know. Thanks -
Thanks for checking in. We’ll definitely keep you posted.
If you have a moment, it could be very helpful to other users if you share your solution in the forum.
Wishing you the best. And nice job with the work-around, by the way! :)

I will publish a comment on that (busy) forum, Robyn.
I see a lot of people concerned about the changes. One thing I noticed is that one can’t hover the cursor over a picture and see whose is it any longer like we used to.
I think that should be restored as I make a point in giving credit to the pictures I published on my blog, so much so that I won’t publish one if I can’t determine whose is or at least where it came from.
The old system offered two ways to tag a picture and that was really a plus: one, by hovering over it and finding out whose pic was. And the other, by clicking on it, which in my case, I’d use to transport the reader to some important link about it, or a video, etc.
Keep me posted; it’s a vital issue. But I understand your efforts and applaud how hard you guys are working on it. Thanks you very much.

Wesley, were you using the Title field to accomplish this before? If so, you can add that text in manually.
Open up the Post/Page where your image appears. Go to the Text view, rather than the default Visual editor.
You can add a Title into your <img> code. Here’s an example of what you would add between the < > brackets:
img src=”http://imagefile.jpg” title=”THIS TEXT WILL APPEAR ON MOUSE HOVER” width=”223″ height=”300″
Make certain to save your changes.
Hope this helps! Best to you — -
Thanks, Robyn, I’ll try it and get back to you. I’m usually a disaster handling code but this is worth giving a shot. Best,

Hi, Robyn,
Sorry if I seem dumb (which I probably am), but this is the first line that appears on the Text editor, under the picture I want to credit: <img class=”alignnone wp-image-27418 size-full”
So, using that as an example, could you tell me where I should input the info? I’d like to appear as
Torre de David, in Caracas, the World’s Tallest Slum (Iwan Baan) Click for Video
Let me know and once again, thanks a bunch.
Wesley
PS: As you’ve probably figured by now, I’m adding my voice to that of so many people already, about how the old functionality should be restored. I know you guys mean well, but this whole step, for instance, of adding credit to a picture, which should be simple, now takes several extra moves. Keep me posted about that too, please.
PS2: It’s a credit to your professionalism that, after almost four years with WP, our exchange has been by far the most extensive I’ve ever had with a staff member. Thanks again. -
Hi Wesley, I added the Title into the html code for you, so you could see exactly where to place it in the future.
Go to your Posts and open “Forty Seven” in your editor. Click on the Text tab. When you do that, you’ll see the html for your post. I added the Title to the very first image listed in your Post.
Let me know that you were able to locate it, and if you believe this is something you can replicate on your own. Thanks much!

Thank you so much Robyn. (Again, you may say, how much slower can this guy get?), but there are two mentions of the title which you so effectively placed on the code for the picture and, yes, it did work: one after the character alt= and the other after the word title. Which one is the correct spot for er placement? Let me know and sorry.
Wesley -
Hi there Wesley! Don’t apologize, this is my job :)
I actually didn’t place the Alt=text. That may have been something you entered when you added the image to your site. Alt text is useful if your image doesn’t load on someone’s computer — they will see the Alt text instead.
What gives you the function you want is:
title= “insert the text you want to appear upon cursor hover here”
Why don’t you give it a try on another image and see how it works. Let me know!
-
Ah, I see. Thank you again. Yes, I’ll try it out and let you know. I think now it’s understood.
Have a great weekend.Wesley

Awesome. Best of luck with the site. Keep an eye out as we fine-tune the image tool, and let me know if you have further questions.
