More traffic via WordPress.com than WordPress.org?

    Hey guys,

    Firstly, WordPress is a great platform to be on for small time bloggers such as us, however, I just wanted to clarify something as it seems quite confusing. I have a blog that me and my brother started on WordPress.com and we were on it for a few months. The views and engagement went up month by month really well. We had a lot of people liking and commenting.

    Then we decided to move to WordPress.org as it would offer us more flexibility. However, the engagement and number of visitors dropped significantly (almost by half! So although the views have steadily been inclining, the engagement has not).

    Just to rule this out, but do you guys advertise any blog posts from WordPress.com more readily than on WordPress.org? So that they hit more people, or is the SEO just better?
