More with Technorati
-
Well, I’m sitting here on the Technorati sending in a feedback wondering why it’s taken two weeks to get my blog claimed and I noticed something in the (lack of) help files on what the tags are suppose to be:
<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/[tagname]" rel="tag">[tagname]</a>Now here’s what I have with my category tags within the links:
rel="category tag"I know from reading the WP docs that Technorati and the other indexers are suppose to pick up on these but they’re slightly different.
Does it make any difference?
Thanks,

I’m not sure what you’re getting at drmike. All I know is that I claimed my blog back in December and it didn’t take any longer than it usually does.

The rel portion of the tag is different. That’s what concerns me.
I finally got back an email from Technorati after two weeks. I got my blog claimed finally. Of course 200+ posts will be ignored, including all of my previous written works. Oh well…

The thing is…technorati doesn’t really generate enough traffic to cause much worry about incompatible rel tags.

Exactly.
I have yet to see anyone listed as being referred by Technorati in my stats in any of my 5 blogs covering thousands of posts.

Mine got claimed right away. And I’ve gotten Technorati hits already. But I post silly, useless crap about celebrities. Post silly, useless crap too and you’ll then get Technorati hits. lol

REALLY!?! REALLY!?! REALLY!?! :)
Think I’ll go make some more posts about Kim Possible in a little black dress. I mean that’s all I get hits for is that one single post I made over a week ago. *grumble*
My search term list for the last two days:
[Deleted because it’s throwing off Google’s searches. I don’t think Matt’s a big Kim Possible fan. :)]

Hey if all else fails Paris Hilton in a post title is the default entry for useless inane visitors.
