Morning After: Request for reinstatement of "Continue Reading" function

Per this thread, is it possible for the “Continue Reading” link, which appears alongside the comments count and main category note under the latest post, on the WordPress.com version of the Morning After theme — seen in this screenshot and in this demo — to be reinstated?
Furthermore, the post metadata line on featured posts, under the title, currently reads as such:
Posted by [name] • [date] • [comment]
where [comment] is represented as “Post a comment” if the comments count is zero.
Could the second dot and [comment] be removed from the template, or at least couched in a named span class, so it can be set to not display via CSS?

We’ve released a small update to remove the “Continue Reading” link at the bottom of the latest post because it was redundant as the theme automatically prints “Continue Reading” link right after the excerpt.
We understand this update might have created some confusion for some users but we’ve decided to remove it because there was no good reason to keep both links next to each other with the same functionality, and we believe that is the best interests of the majority user.
The good news is now comment links are wrapped with span with a class so if you need to style it differently, you are able to do so via custom css.
Just FYI, the comment link will not be displayed if comment is closed and there is no comments in the post.

To my mind, the redundant “Continue reading »” link is not the one that appears in black, smaller text as a link alongside the comments and categories links below the latest post, but the one that appears at the end of the excerpt.
As far as I can tell, unlike the featured posts excerpts, the latest post excerpt stands more on its own from a design perspective. It is a stand-alone paragraph without any hyperlinks — you can’t shoehorn HTML hyperlinks into excerpts; they simply don’t display — and the “continue reading” function works through clicking both the article title and, more intuitively in my mind, by clicking the black “Continue Reading” link (controlled by “.latest_read_on,” not by “”) that appears below the latest-post excerpt. I know it can be reinstated because I’ve edited the following into the page, and it appears:

Seconded. Plus a row of three bold links instead of two below the featured post gives a more balanced look.

Thanks for your comments. As of now, there are no plans to make further changes to the comment link in The Morning After, but if we do decide to make changes in the future we will let you know.
