Motif: change color of slideshow captions?
-
I’ve temporarily (I hope! – depending on the result of this inquiry) gone back to the standard and rather ugly black background to a slideshow. In fact, I’ve been supplied with all the code needed to get rid of the black and replace it with white, plus add a nice, 1-pixel border around that. However, if I want captions that becomes impractical (I never used captions, in the past).
Tried my best to make the captions #000, without success.
Is this possible, please? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do mind sharing the code that you received to remove the ugly black background? I too, detest it.

Nono! – it was never meant to be information for my eyes only. :-)
Hang on a tick: I’ll go find the responses from Rich, and then point you at them, OK? -
Newsy: carousel background
reduce frame of slideshow
As you see, I irritatingly used the wrong word in the first one – which is actually the second one, in truth.
Search on ‘reduce’ first and then on ‘Newsy’ and you’ll get two threads that are what you need.

Sorry, this one got lost. You can change the slideshow caption text color with the following. The second declaration below is for the text shadow. If you want to do away with that, you can change it to text-shadow: none; or perhaps change it to a lighter grey, such as #777777.
.slideshow-slide-caption { color: #000000; text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px #222222; } -
Thank you, Rich.
Btw: Frank had just finished telling me that it’s not possible to have a header on Motif, when I told him to go take a look.
He was gobsmacked.

During editing a thesis (even when it’s only a Masters) I get up and go away to drink ANYTHING. Even coffee. Always looking for an excuse to distance meself from it, basically. :-

My slideshow captions have reverted to the original white with shadows, in spite of having been showing exactly how I wanted them, thanks to Rich’s instructions.
WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?
I mean, what makes something change?
Is it that some coding I entered subsequently (for something else, I mean) affected the captions’ code?
Do I need, then, to enter it again? -
