Motif: older posts button

  I know that
  #infinite-handle span {
  is where I need to be. I’ve changed the mouseover (?) color of the OLDER POSTS button from bright red to the brown of my colors scheme; and in the window where I’m using customize it works fine.
  But when I go to the actual page, it’s still red.
  This doesn’t amaze me, as I often can’t achieve what I want within CSS.
  So will you, please, someone?
