Motif theme – Centering header; changing link colours in specific text areas

    Hello,

I have built two WordPress websites for non-profit parent groups (thanks to finding answers to all my questions from the wonderfully supportive WordPress.com community!) now I am branching out and building a business website using the Motif theme and the Custom Upgrade. As a relative newcomer to CSS I am of course a bit overwhelmed by the possibilities of CSS and I was wondering if I could get some advice for the following two issues:

    1) Centering my header logo.
Thanks to other entries in the Motif support forum, I managed to figure out how to use a larger logo. But I cannot figure out how to centre it. I have tried all sorts of code from other support answers but no joy.

    2) Changing the link colour ONLY in certain text areas.
I would just like to change the link colour in the paragraph text of posts and pages. When I used the “p” tag to change the colour, that worked but unfortunately it was too general and all links changed to that colour (i.e. navigation menu items, H1, H2’s etc.). I think it has something to do with specificity and I have tried to figure it out by inspecting the element in Firefox but unfortunately nothing works, whatever I do is all or nothing in terms of changing link colours.

    Thanks so much in advance.
