Motif theme customisations

    Can someone give me some guidance on modifying the Motif theme.
    On the front page I would like to reposition and resize the front page content box.
    I would also like to change the font colour to black of the two widgets I have added (Image and Text boxes)

    I can seem to make one change – but when I try and another rule it wont work.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi, the following will change the font color in the text widgets to black.

    .front-widget-area .widget, .sidebar-widget-area .widget {
        color: #000000;
    }

    When you say reposition and resize the content box, what exactly are you wanting to do?

    Hi

    Thanks for your help.
    I have managed to move the box to the right and make it smaller to bring in line with the widgets. However, I would like to move it down the page. Are you able to let me know what code I need to enter.

    Thanks
    Shey

    I checked http://sheycobley.com/ and the change you made so far to manually adjust the left margin doesn’t look good in mobile views to me. Make sure you check the mobile and tablet preview buttons in Appearance > Customize when you make CSS changes.

    Is your end goal to get the “About” box currently showing on the home page to look more like the “Skills” box lower down on the same page?

    If so, what if you just hid the “About” overlay box on the home page and just added another text widget to the Appearance > Widgets > “Second Front Page Sidebar” area just like the Skills text widget?

    If that sounds good, I would recommend changing this:

    .front-page-content-area .with-featured-image .hentry {
    	width: 512px;
    	margin-left:596px
    }

    To this:

    .front-page-content-area .with-featured-image .hentry {
    	display: none;
    }

    And then adding a new widget like I described above.
