Motif Theme: Moving/removing the Front Page text box
-
In Motif’s “front page” template, there is a textbox in the bottom-right hand side of the large featured image that covers just under a quarter of the image. I am looking for a way to reposition it to the bottom left corner instead, or to remove it completely. (On my blog, it’s the box that says “‘Some beautiful quote’ – by so and so.”)
I am completely new to CSS, so please treat me like the noob that I am. Thanks!

Hi there, this will remove the white content box from the slider.
.front-page-content-area .with-featured-image .hentry { display: none; }This will take it to the bottom left corner.
.front-page-content-area .with-featured-image .hentry { margin-left: 0; margin-bottom: 0; } -
Thank you so much! That’s perfect.
I seem to have run into a new problem though. It seems to be interfering with my custom header font and resetting it to the default one. Is there a way around this?
The one I’d like to use is Open Sans and +4 size.

Hmmm, that code wouldn’t affect the site title. Totally different selectors.
At Appearance > Customize > Fonts in your dashboard, I’m seeing both Heading and Body fonts both set to Default. Can you try resetting them to your desired fonts again and see what happens?

Oh… hmm… I just took another look and the problem seems to have gone away. Earlier when I changed the CSS, the font reset itself and no matter how often I tried to change it back to what I wanted, it wouldn’t save.
Everything’s good now. Thanks very much!
