Motif Theme Questions

Hi, I am using the motif theme for my site. I have upgraded to premium but there are still a few things that I cannot change.

First, on my portfolio page it says archives at the top and I don’t want it to say that and I can’t change it. Any ideas on how to remove it?

Second, I started this as a blog several months ago but now I am trying to turn it into a website, is there anyway to take the main home page with all of my old posts and change to a blog and then start a new home page, without losing all of my old posts?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The same thing happened on my test website. I suspect you’d need to use CSS to remove or change that. A portfolio is a type of archives page, and this theme labels it so.

    A blog is a website.

Perhaps you could clarify your intention a bit. What do you mean by “change to a blog”?
You can hide your old posts by changing the front page to a static page, as described on the Front Page support page. Then you could provide links to the posts in various ways: custom menu links, archives or category widgets, display posts shortcode (can be used in posts, page, or text widgets), etc.
You will not “lose” your old posts by not displaying them on the front page.

Musicdoc1, thanks for the reply. I’m terrible with computer stuff. If you could look at my website beckywillardphotography.com notice how the home page looks like a blog, I would like for the title of the home page to say blog. I’m not if that is possible, if it isn’t how can I transfer all of those posts to a new page titled Blog. Hope this makes sense.

how can I transfer all of those posts to a new page titled Blog.

See the Front Page support page for instructions on how to do that.

I would like for the title of the home page to say blog.

This aim conflicts with your other aim, creating a posts page (regardless of the title chosen), which requires that the front page be changed to a static page.

I mean I want to add a new front page and change the title of the current front page to blog, foes that make sense.

On this theme you can replace the “Home” header tab with a “Blog” tab, with a link to your posts page in a custom menu — after changing the Reading Settings to display a static homepage and a posts page titled “Blog” — but the “Blog” page will not be the homepage.

Yes. You can do this, as described in the Front Page support page. However, the new front page will not be a posts stream. In other words, WordPress only allows one stream of posts.
Portfolios may be used as a workaround to this limitation.
