Motif Theme, various featured images in a slider

    Hello,

    i´d like to have several images in the featured images area at my main page. I´d like them to change about every 5 seconds just like a slider. Can anybody tell me how to do this in Motif Theme?

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

    Motif is a special case at the moment because it’s downloadable here at WordPress.com from http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/motif/ but doesn’t yet have a support forum elsewhere. Because of that, let me see if I can answer your question here for you this time! :)

    I see that Motif wasn’t actually designed with a slider. So your best bet will probably be to install some kind of plugin to get functionality like that.

    You can search at http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=header+slider (note that this is only for self-hosted WordPress.org setups)

    Look for one that has good ratings and lots of downloads. I’m not familiar with them myself, but this one looks nice to me: http://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/ (note that this is only for self-hosted WordPress.org setups)

    Once you have finalized your choice, you will want to go to the plugin author to see if they offer support if you need help setting it up. Or you can always use the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums at http://wordpress.org/support/ When asking for help, make sure to be as specific as possible. :)
