Motion Theme. Font Color

  I have had Motion Theme for about two years. It is a dark background, so the text is white. Today all of a sudden the font is not working properly. Normally it shows black font on the admin page. It automatically shows white font on my main site. And, automatically shows black font on mobile site. Now in order for it to show white font on my main site, on the admin page I have to change the font color to white. Problem is now I can’t see it on admin page or the mobile page. So, there is something wrong all of a sudden with the font color. I have not had to be concerned with it at all in the past – it simply worked!!

  I did update my main home computer to Microsoft Word 2013 from Word 2007. I always cut and paste from Word on my computer to my admin page. Could something in Word 2013 be causing the problem?

  Thank you so very much for your help. I don’t have a clue how to fix the problem.

  Hi Pat,

  Motion is a retired theme, which means it’s built in a way that it will conflict with other changes happening to the structure of WordPress.com. We no longer let new blogs activate the Motion theme, but those who have already activated it now or in the past can continue using it.

  Given that, it sounds like the way font colors are handled on WordPress.com recently changed, and Motion doesn’t handle it properly.

  If you prefer to stay with Motion, my recommendation would be to continue adding your text with white color as you have been. But then add this Custom CSS to make all body text in your mobile theme black:

  @media only screen and (max-device-width: 480px){
  
  body {
       color: #404040 !important;
  }
  
  }

  Over time, it’s possible other issues may come up with Motion. You may wish to switch to another theme avoid further complications like this one.
