No; for security reasons (because we share the backbone to our blogs) our video and sound options are limited. You can find them here:

Hi raincoaster,
This question comes up so often that I’d like to write a note here about an option that’s always worked fine for me. For videos that aren’t a WP.com option yet, I capture an image of the video player, then in the editor I post the image and then link the image to the URL of the video I want. Making sure that underneath I let viewers know to click the image to view the video (works for slideshows also). As an example, readers here can look at this old post of mine, where I wanted to use a Brightcove video. This is an older, very esoteric posting of mine, so I’m really not trying to get hits here. Just wanted to show a fairly easy way to use other videos on WP.com:
P.S. I DON’T “hotlink” videos off of other people’s sites. I use this method as a way to link to videos from larger sites that offer their readers URL permalinks to videos.

Right, I remember your doing that a few times. It works very well, and now that more people are linking their still images to the source sites for those images, it is more intuitive; people understand the dynamics because they’ve seen the same thing in stills. Good idea.

Mary, best bet would be to submit this as a suggestion via feedback. Be sure to include a link tot he site as well as why you feel that it’s important. Staff has stated many times that they keep track of requests like this.
