Move a previous post up to the top

  Is there a way to move a previous post back up to the top without reposting the article?
  It seems like there ought to be a way to change the date which might put it back up to the top.

  Make that post sticky. Go to the list of posts. Hover on the post you want to promote. Hovering will show options like Edit, Quick Edit, Trash. Click on Quick Edit and tick the box [ ] make this post sticky.

  You may also do so by going to post-editor (of that particular post) and editing “Visibility” option and marking, “stick this post to front page.” Read an illustrative example here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/

  Thanks – that works great.
  I can set this up to stick for a week or so and then change it back to normal.
