Move blog from WordPress to Drupal
-
Hi folks
I’m a newbie at this so if i get anything wrong forgive me.
We have a blog here at wordpress and i want to move it to our drupal site…is that possible? I think it is but i’ve been unable to find out how to do so. I’ve searched drupal.org and here using criteria like (drupal)(wordpress blog to drupal)
We are a local community organisation and i’ve not been able to get people using the blog and i know i’m going to have equally as much trouble getting them using our website. But will probably be eaiser to get them signed up to the website rather than trying to encouraging them to sign up for several different kinds of sites.
All help much appreciated :)

you can export your wp.com by going to dashboard -> manage -> export
download your blog’s xml file and you should be able to upload it to your drupal blog…

Thank you sulz I’ll follow that up and give it a try :)
& you too wank…. i haven’t asked on the drupal forums cause i’m scared of them ….:) We’ve just started developing the website, and while we’re not doing to bad at all for a bunch of no nothings, i find the language, terms and support difficult to get my head around and i’ve seen how people can get told off in there. So until i’ve got a better understanding i won’t be posting in the scary forum but i will go over and see if i can find it :)

You’re going to have to install an older version of wordpress locally at your end but it’s doable:

The converter being discussed there is discussed here: http://drupal.org/node/108797
