move content from old blog to new blog

  Hi I need to move all content from yasemintheflower.wordpress.com to brevityroux.wordpress.com

  The advice in the support section seemed to be saying that wordpress.com needs to do it for me? I’m a newbie, so I haven’t got a clue.

  yes, i saved the XML file but when i went to import it into
  the new blog, i couldn’t see the file at all. i tried several times, saving it under different names etc. can you help with that at all?

  What do you mean you could not see the file? You can’t find it on your computer?

  yes…i download the file from the old site and when i try to open it in the new one it is nowhere to be found….

  You have to “import” the file at tools > import. You navigate to where the file was saved and then import that file.

  I did this:

  old blog tools> export> download XML> file wouldn’t save so I opened it and saved it to desktop and my documents on my computer

  new blog tools> import> wordpress: import posts etc> browse
  here there was no XML file in my desktop or my documents

  I’m sorry to take up your time about this but i’ve followed the
  instructions as best I could and it’s not working.

  What do you mean it would not save? If it is on your computer then it saved.

  i mean when i clicked ‘download export file’ a box came up
  ‘open’, ‘save’ or ‘cancel’.
  I clicked ‘save’ but it said it couldn’t save it at this time, so i
  clicked ‘open’ and it opened a document full of text. I saved this
  document (which had the default name ‘export’) to my desktop but
  when i went to import it, it was not on my desktop. So it’s saying
  ok when i save it and then the file is not displaying when i go
  to import it.
