Move followers

    Site: Lawrenceblock.com
Old site (we migrated this to hosted a couple of years ago): lawrenceblock.wordpress.com

I had to uninstall Jetpack and reinstall it, and now all the site’s followers are gone! Can you recover them and Replace them at lawrenceblock.com, please? There were a couple thousand of them.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

With Jetpack, your stats information is connected to a unique blog ID. If you were using a development site or a different address when you first set Jetpack up, disconnecting will have created a new blog ID. When this happens, it may appear that your stats and followers were lost.

I’ve fixed this issue and updating the blog ID for your site. In order to see your stats and followers again, you’ll first need to disconnect and then reconnect to Jetpack again.

Let me know if this helps or if you have any questions around this.

Thank you so much! This seems to have helped…but two more questions:

There are 45 people listed as subscribers to lawrenceblock.wordpress.com. Can they be merged into the lawrenceblock.com list as well? (It’s all the one site now…has been for a couple of years.)

When I was testing, I registered (and confirmed) last night, but I seem to have dropped off the subscribers list. Does this mean there was some period of time when subscriptions were lost? (The site host deleted the Jetpack plugin completely before I reinstalled it, if this helps, but the site hasn’t moved and wasn’t on a staging server.)

    Thanks so much!!

    Hi Erin.

Absolutely. I’ve gone ahead to transfer the followers from lawrenceblock.wordpress.com to lawrenceblock.com. For future reference, Jetpack comes with a Subscription Migration Tool which you can use to transfer followers from WordPress.com to WordPress.org yourself:

Did you subscribe after Jetpack had been uninstalled and reinstalled? If so, your subscription, and that of any others who subscribed after Jetpack had been reinstalled, will have been lost when I reset your blog’s ID in our system. I checked and during that period you had 1 new WordPress.com subscriber and 5 new email subscribers. I’ve gone ahead to restore these back to your new site. Can you let me know if you’re now able to see your subscription?
