Move from selfHosted to wordpress.com

    Hi Everyone!

I moved all my contents from my self-hosted (mynappytales.com) to cuddlesandcrumbs.wordpress.com by uploading the xml file.
    Questions:
    1) my media still pointing to self-hosted? how do I move all media to wordpress.com? Once I’m sure I’ve moved everything I will purchase domain with wordpress.
    2) move subscribers from selfhosted to wordpress.com (I’m using feedburner)
    3) is there any other things that I need to do with this move? My domain expires next month (June).

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can answer #1.. You will need to upload your media to wordpress.com
    Dashboard-Media>Add New

Currently your media is still on your active “.org” site, which is why you are still able to see it. When your site expires those links will no longer be active.

    Thank you blandis214!

I just check my media folder on .com and can see all files inside, and checking the posts now all the photo links to the .com. I think that one just got sorted out.

    2) you need to install a redirect at your old site. I am assuming you are not using the same domain name on your WP.com blog. If you ARE renewing the domain name and mapping it to your WP.com blog, then you don’t need to do anything and your subscribers will still be subscribed.

Thanks Raincoaster. I’ll look for a plugin to do redirect.
