Move Media Up or Down, Before or After

    Is there a way I can change the position of media in the Media Library — for example, if I want a media file to appear before or after another media file?

    Hi there,

    This is not possible, no. Media files are added to the library based on the date and time they are uploaded, with the most recently uploaded always appearing at the top.

    Would you mind sharing why such a sorting feature would be useful to you?

    Hi there back at you…

    This feature would be useful because my obsessive-compulsive personality finds comfort in orderliness and the Media Library for the site in question contains several different file types listed in no particular order. So, for example, if all the jpg’s were together and all the pdf’s were together, this would increase the orderliness factor and my comfort level, not to mention making it easier for me to find things a bit faster.
