  why should I move my domain rather than simply leave it with Go Daddy?

  With domain transfer you will be moving your domain entirely to WordPress.com and you be managing everything site related to WordPress.com here.

  You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.

  Most people find it more convenient to have their site and domain with the same provider, as it means you only have to remember to pay in one place each year. But if you prefer to keep them separate you can absolutely do that.
