move my wordpress blog to my wordpress website

I just created a wordpress blog for a class I’m teaching, and gave my students the link to it. Now I see that you offer free websites, and I’d like to create a website and move my blog to it.
I think I should be able to create the new website and link the existing blog to it, but I’m not sure how. I’m also concerned about the possible confusion for my students. Am I better off just to keep the blog separate?
    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • A blog is a type of website, it just displays your latest posts on a specific page, usually the front page.

By website, do you mean you want a specific page to be shown as your home page, and not a list of posts?

You can do that by making the front page point to a static page, follow the guide here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

On the Static Front Page tab in the Site Customizer (read above link), you can choose the page where you want your posts to appear, i.e., make that page a ‘blog’.

There’s no need to create a new website/blog for it, it can be done on your current site.
