Move nav bar below header

  • Unknown's avatar

Would someone be able to help me with the CSS to move my nav bar, which is currently fixed at the top of all pages, to below the header image? I’m using Triton Lite.

So, just to be clear, I’d like the header image to be at the top of all my pages, with the small nav bar ribbon below the header, and the content just below the nav bar.

Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi @jenmackintosh

Firstly, I think you’ve done a great job in setting up your theme. Looks nice!

Sadly, because of the way this theme is written (where the menu is in a div that is outside the header div) it’s not possible to rearrange the order using CSS alone.

If this were a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site running Triton Lite, you would be able to modify the functions.php file to accomplish this, but modifying the theme source files like that is not possible on WordPress.com.

If you feel confident enough to handle your own source code edits, I’m happy to point you in the right direction to get set up with a self-hosted site if that will help.

However, I really think your site is lovely just the way it is. :)

Let me know if you need assistance or if you have any questions.

Thank you very much, Jerry. It’s a little detail and I can live with the placement as it is. I do really appreciate your help and explanation though! Thank you!
