move old posts to archive page

  my blog is getting cumbersome. extremely long and getting old. i need to divide the home page and archive all the old posts to a new page. i currently have an archive which directs to previous months. don’t need that–need to shorten the page. then IF they wish to go further, they can search the archives. i’ve searched all the general and archive suggestions. they don’t answer the question. help!

  Hey there!

  You can limit the amount of posts that you display on your blog page. Right now, you’re setup for Infinite Scroll, which will keep displaying older posts as your visitors scroll down.

  To change this, click here:
  https://rosepointpublishing.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

  Where you see “Blog pages show at most” you can lower the amount of posts that display on your blog page.

  Then, scroll down. When you see “To infinity and beyond,” you will turn off Scroll Infinitely.

  Make sure you save the changes you’ve made.
