Move panels from first page in Affinity theme
-
Hi,
I’m using Affinity theme which is very suitable for what I need, especially the “panels” feature.
However, I want the home page not to have any panels, and to find the panels on another page. Is there any way to change this in Affinity theme or another free theme which offers this functionality?
It would be much appreciated!

Every theme has a detailed theme description page like this one at https://wordpress.com/themes/affinity/ That’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://affinitydemo.wordpress.com/
CSS editing applies only to appearance changes. You cannot compel any theme to function in any way that the designer of the theme did not provide for.

Thanks for fast reply.
I read the Affinity theme description and I couldn’t find my answer there, hence I opened this post.
As I understand from your 2nd paragraph, what I’m looking for is a function of the theme, which cannot be changed via CSS editing.
Thanks for the explanations+links and for adding the modlook tag. I’m already subscribed to this post. I’ll wait for the staff answer.

Hi alexadani,
I see you are using the Goran theme now. Have you decided to use that rather than Affinity?
I want the home page not to have any panels, and to find the panels on another page.
With the Affinity theme, the Customizer only provides the option to add panels to the front page of your site. There isn’t an option for ‘switching’ the panel page to anything other than the front page.
what I’m looking for is a function of the theme, which cannot be changed via CSS editing.
Correct. It’s not possible to change this functionality using CSS; CSS can only alter the appearance of a site, not its behaviour.
Come back to me if you have any questions!

Thank you for the reply and confirmation.
Indeed, I searched another suitable free theme which I did not find. Also I like Affinity more, so for now I’ll go with it. I believe a paid theme would offer this functionality, but it’s not necessary for what I need now.

Shoreditch has a nice Panel Template you can put on any page. The demo site shows it on the front page, but it’s available on other pages as well. Might be worth trying!
