Move posts from wordpress.com-blog to a wordpress.org-blog hosted on own server?
-
Hi.
Right now I’m having my blog hosted at wordpress.com (arcadeberg.com) but I’m getting irritated by the restrictions of not being able to install plug-ins, themes but most of all, not being eable to embedd whatever I wish in the posts (gametrailers.com-videos for example).
So I’m toying with the idea of installing the wordpress cms on my server instead, but here’s my question: Is there anyway to back-up my posts from my wordpress.com-blog and easily import them to my own wordpress.ORG-setup, keeping my comments, formatting and most importantly, date of publishing?
I appreciate the help.
Thanks.

Yes, if you do a search of the FAQ for “export” this is what you find:

You’re welcom. Remember, though, your shortcodes like [youtube=URL] won’t work and will have to be re-coded.
