Move posts to existing WP 2.3 blog

  Hi, I have a wordpress.com blog that I was using during a downtime on an existing wordpress blog that I have at my own domain.

  The question is this… can the entries and comments in the wordpress.com blog be imported to the WordPress 2.32 version blog on my own domain without messing anything up?

  Yes. Just export from the .com blog and use import at your self-hosted blog. Clear your spam queue before exporting for the smallest file. And make sure all is right on the self-hosted blog before deleting anything from the .com. :)

  If you had images on your wp.com blog, in some cases it will actually import the images as well, but for the most part, most will still be linking to your wp.com blog. That is why until you can edit the paths and upload them to your new blog, I would never delete your wp.com blog. Maybe the posts, but leave all the images and uploaded content!
