Move sidebar to bottom to extend the main page content

Add topic to favorites
How do I move my sidebar (search, meta, login etc…) to the bottom so it is horizontal (it is vertical now) so I make more room for the main page?
When sidebar is moved to the bottom I would like my main content to stretch to where the sidebar used to be.

I’ve tried some things with widgets and editing the sidebar and footer in main theme but i just messed it up :) so I reverted it back.

Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately Black Letterhead does not provide a footer widgets. The best advice I can give you is to try another theme that does. Twenty Eleven has a dark color scheme which you may like.

I would also like to remove the sidebar, just as the previous person mentioned. I am using Forever theme, which should allow me to do this. I have tried all I could (gone into the widget area and emptied all under “sidebar”..) and cannot seem to get it to remove it.

If I could have it remove on all pages except the blog page, that would be ideal. If it needs to be all the same, then remove it all together.

Can you help me ??

Actually there is a way. One of the users from wordpress.org forums posted it

Just paste this into style.css and it works. Close enough for me.

.narrowcolumn {
float: none;
width: 91%;
}

#sidebar {
margin-left: 0;
width: 91%;
padding-left: 44px;
}

#sidebar ul ul li,
#sidebar ul ol li {
float: left;
}

That would be under your appearance/Editor/Style.css

That’s correct;
and yet, I have done it before on another site/blog, using Forever and not buying the upgrade. So I know I should be able to do it…

@napabelle This may be possible, but not through a reliable method. The Custom CSS module in the Custom Design Upgrade is the only method of adding custom css to a site on WordPress.com that we support.
