Move sidebar to the right on Showcase page – Twenty Eleven

    Hello,

    I’m currently using the showcase template for my blog http://www.foodiesagenda.com
    How can I move the side bar to the right hand side, similar to the standard blog pages?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    I took a look at your site and it was stumping me for a bit! Then I saw that you had set a static page for your front page which was using the Showcase Template (which was blank), and it was forcing the menu bar to be on the left side.

    That’s not necessary for what you seem to be wanting to do. I went ahead and set your blog back to just having your new posts go onto your front page (under Settings >> Reading), and now your blog looks the same, but the menu bar is on the right hand side.

    The only thing you’ll need to change now is that there is a blog menu item. You’ll need to go to your blog’s Dashboard and go to Pages and delete “Blog” since you won’t need it anymore.

    I hope this is what you were looking for. Let me know if I misunderstood and I can put everything back how it was!

    Hello

    Thanks for your quick response.

    I actually wanted the Showcase template as my home page. As you can see on the Showcas page, the Recent Post is shown, then when you scroll to the bottom, there is just a listing of other recent posts to click on to. The only thing I didn’t like about the Showcase page is that the side bar was to the left.
    Originally I just had my blog set up to have all my posts on the front page like you’ve done, however I didn’t love the scrolling nature of the blog style page template.

    I was just hoping to use the Showcase template for my ffront page and just have the side bar on the right hand side

    My apologies! I hadn’t noticed the different content further down on your page.

    Unfortunately as I mentioned the Showcase Template does force your menu bar to the left hand side, over-riding the theme settings. There’s no way to move it over to the right side of the page. I’m sorry for the inconvenience!
