Move website from Word Press.org to WordPress.com?

  I presently have a WordPress website in WordPress.org. Can the site be moved to WordPress.com and what would the benefit be?

  I believe you can do that. I’m not sure if you can move all the custom things on your wordpress.org site over here, it depends on what you have to move. Here’s what I’d do,
  1. In the wordpress.org site, click on tools export, and select the content you want to export. Download the file WordPress generates and save it somewhere on your computer you’ll need it in the next step.
  2. Now in your wordpress.com blog, go to tools import and select import from wordpress.
  3. Click the browse button and find the file you saved in the first step. Then click the import button and you’re done. You may have to reset all the items in your sidebar, but you shouldn’t have lost any content.
