Move WordPress
-
Hello,
I have a WordPress Account and Blog. I would like if I could use WordPress on my NAS (QNAP). I installed there WordPress and created a user. Now I want to move my current blog to my NAS. I tried to use the Export and Import function, but this was not possible. I tried to install plugins to do it, but i am not allowed to install plugins. May I ask you how I can change my WordPress? Thanks PamelaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @wipamela,
Here are our instructions for moving a WordPress.com site to a self-hosted installation:
https://move.wordpress.comIf you’re having any trouble with your own installation (for example, being unable to add plugins — likely a security setting on your server), you’ll want to use the WordPress.org forums for help: https://wordpress.org/support
Best wishes!

Hello,
thanks a lot. I had the trouble not to be able to install plugins with my non-NAS WordPress Account. At the NAS I don`t have a problem. I will check your help and maybe come back.
Thanks

Hi,
I understand that i canˋt insatall plugins on my “normal” WordPress file. All what I want is to transfer all my blogs (incl. pictures) from my normal profil to my NAS. I am just looking for a solution for this.
At the moment I am working on my new theme of my NAS Word-Press-Profile.
The usual CSV-Download seems only the blogs itself to include.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

The usual CSV-Download seems only the blogs itself to include.
The export file will only include posts and pages. It does not include the theme, but you can download this theme and install it on your own copy of WordPress.
If you need more help beyond what is in the https://move.wordpress.com document, please refer to the WordPress.org forums for self-hosted (or NAS-hosted) installations. Cheers!
