move wordpress.org to wordpress.com

A friend recommended I use wordpress.org for my site and I quickly learned I am not ready for that! I want to move my site from .org to .com and I have a couple questions.

    1. Is it possible to even do this?
    2. When I transfer it, will there be any issues or limitations as to what I can edit or how I’m able to build my site?
    3. Will I only have to pay for wordpress.com or will I still have to pay for wordpress.org as well?

    Thanks!

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    1. Yes. The Business plan has the option to bring over the whole site. Lesser plans you just bring over the content you have created on the other site.

    2. That depends what kind of site you are building. A Personal plan and Premium plan may be fine for you but don’t allow plugins to be added to the site (although the most useful ones are built in already). You would need a Business plan if you want plugins and/or to sell things.

    3. You don’t pay for WordPress.org. That is free software. You will be paying wherever your current site is hosted. You may need to keep paying them for your custom domain if you only map/connect it to your WordPress.com site. Or you could transfer the domain (if possible) here and then just pay WordPress.com going forward.
