Move wordpress to a new domain

Can i install wordpress to http://www.exampledomainA.com / theme it / customize it / move it to http://www.exampledomainB.com?

I am using a theme that mimics a website. It requires a lot of configuration to create the pages etc. I would like to do this on a testing/temporary domain and then port the whole thing over to the permanent domain. After searching i have only been able to find info for porting a wordpress.com blog to a domain. I am aware of the import/export feature. I know i need to install wordpress at the new domain, install the theme, import and the blog is live.

Can i then just overwrite the rest with the files from the site i customized? I am going to give this a shot tomorrow so i may learn what i need to know then. I am posting in hopes of a guru chiming in to tell me to stop being an idiot and direct me towards the proper instructions :D.
