Moved Blog to wordpress.com but image-links still point to old Location

  Hi,

  I have been self-hosting a wordpress blog for a while and I’m tired of messing with it. I noticed that wordpress now allows for private blogs, which is what mine is, and so upgraded my wordpress instance to 2.6.1. Then I exported it, created the new blog in wordpress.com and then imported it. All of the posts came across just fine, but my images are all still pointing to the old location where I’ve been hosting my blog. How do I change that? I want all of the images to be stored on wordpress.com and have the image links point to the new respective locations.

  I believe the only thing you can do is upload the images here and manually correct all the links.

  You will have to move the images over manually and then manually correct the links. The blog export/import does not contain the images.

  Wow, bummer. Are there no plugins that handle this?

  We cannot use plugins at wordpress.COM.
