Moved Site – wp-login now cannot be found
-
I recently pointed a production URL to a WordPress site I have been working on.
In the .htaccess file for the production site we added a Rewrite Rule to point all references to :
http://www.spplus.com/transportation/northwest
to the WordPress codebase I developed at:
After the rewrite was in place I went in and updated the siteurl and home fields in the database to:
http://spplus.com/Transportation/northwest
The front-end (http://www.spplus.com/Transportation/northwest/) loads up fine with the exception of a few images whose path I need to fix.
The problem is that I can not login to the admin area any longer. Going to http://www.spplus.com/Transportation/northwest/wp-login WordPress gives me its 404 page.
- I have stripped the .htaccess file down to the base file.
- I have reloaded a clean version of wp-login.php from the nightly build directory.
- I have also added the RELOCATE flag to my wp-config.php file
- I have disabled the plugin folder.
All to no avail so far.
I believe the issue is that the site’s WordPress install was done at the root g level of the site while the redirect URL construction has the site within a subdirectory. The path to the content needed to show the front-end is correct but a configured path that the wp-login is looking for is not correctly set.
I am more than a little lost in the weeds on this one and would appreciate and assistance.
Thanks!
John
