Moving a domain from WordPress to Wix

    I have been trying to move my domain over to wix where I have built a new site. The soft site is still available at mmcthemonitor.com, but after I changes the name servers, I lost the ability to login into the wordpress account. It gives me a 404 message everytime I try to login, and on Wix’s end everything is fine. How do I fix the wordpress? Please help.

    Can you help me to understand your problem a little better –

    If you’re having problems with the domain transfer itself, It sounds like you might want to take a look at the WordPress support on moving domains at the link below:

    Where exactly are you going to try and log into your WordPress site? Once you have changed the name servers, then you wont be able to access WordPress.com this way. Could you walk me through how you are trying to log into your WordPress account, and where you are going?

    It is possible you are using a self hosted version of WordPress.org, in which case you should check out the following two links:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
    https://wordpress.org/support/

    However, it is difficult for me to know this for sure until you tell me which WordPress site, account, or login page that you are having difficulties with.

    Hi,

    So I’ve had the wordpress for a few years now, but I decided to move over to Wix, so I went to move the domain over but changing the name servers as instructed by Wix. However, Wix has informed that it didn’t work correctly. I went to wordpress again, and now of course I cant log in because the login page only goes to a 404 error page. I have already read all those links and nothing is helping me because I cant login into the wordpress.

    Sorry to hear you don’t feel like those links help! The difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org can be a little confusing sometimes :)

    However, it looks like you’ve already received some excellent advice over on your original thread:

    Myself, as well as many others on the forum will be happy to help you understand the differences, and point you in the right direction to fix this, but for consistencies sake I think we should do it in the one place – which is your original post linked above.
