Moving a Domain Registered through Wix to a WordPress site

  I want to transfer my domain name that I registered when setting up my Wix.com website. It tells me to do the following, but I can’t understand what to do?

  “To transfer this domain, please first contact your new domain registrar and ask them for your “TAG name”. Then send Wix support ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) the “TAG name” to begin transfer.”

  Hi there,

  WordPress.com isn’t able to accept incoming domain transfers, so it isn’t possible to transfer the domain registration for a domain you already own to WordPress.com. Instead, you need to map (point) your domain to WordPress.com.

  We have a guide to Map an Existing Domain with the exact steps for that process.

  However, I believe Wix.com doesn’t allow you to make the change you need on their end (changing your domain’s name servers). In that case, you’ll need to transfer your domain to a different registrar first — any of the registrars listed at the end of our domain mapping guide will work.
