Moving a wordpress blog back to wordpress…
-
I’m looking to move my existing wordpress blog ( hosted at Bluehost.com ) to a sub-domain, where it would sit on WordPress’s platform for hosting instead of Bluehost.
Bluehost gave me this answer:
it is very much possible but this would require updating the perma-links as well as any custom redirects in your website. it would be suggested to use a plugin called the duplicator plugin which clones the website as well as the database thus updating most of the links along with it. you can find a guide by watching this video tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdP3quWLM0Q
So now I need to find someone to do this for me. Suggestions on who to hire? -
Hi @allijagoda, let’s try this instead:
– Export from Bluehost using these steps:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/export– Then import here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/importThe importer should update the links to the old address for you, but if it does not, we can help.
